WHCschools
The WHC schools are for members members who wish to improve this skills, or who wish to try their hand at a different haiku "school of thought". Guest instructors are invited in to run a "school" in addition to the instructors from the WHC.
Students can apply to a particular school as they are available and in session, to learn how to write haiku from that school's perspective.
To apply to join at WHCschools, go to Yahoo-Groups WHC Schools and follow the instructions. WHC lists are "private" lists. You will receive an application questionnaire to be filled out and returned to the list-owner's e-mail address before admission.
WHCbeginners
In addition to WHCschools, we offer two-month mentored sessions on WHCbeginners. This list is moderated by Director of Beginners and mentor, an'ya (Andja Petrovic, US), with co-facilitators, co-mentors, Sue Mill (AU) and Alison Williams (UK). The beginners list is not a school, per se, holding to no particular haiku school of thought. The mentors guide novices through netiquette, mentored C&C (comment and critique), discussion and informative postings. Each session, one or more alumni will be asked to return as an assistant co-mentor.
To apply for an upcoming session, go to Yahoo-Groups WHCbeginners and follow instructions. WHC lists are "private" lists. You will receive an application questionnaire to be filled out and returned to the list-owner's e-mail address before admission. Pending members will need to wait for their turns at membership between sessions. After a session is complete, members are transferred to WHC's flagship and intermediate haiku mailing list, WHChaikuforumworkshop, the largest of our haiku forums, where members may continue to post their haiku and discussion topics in an unmentored, friendly atmosphere with poets of various experience in haiku.
