In college, Karina modeled for the Eastman Kodak Company and represented the Sheraton Hotel Chain -- she says that seems forever ago!
Her early career in New York started in the area of Child Development and Gifted Children and found it a wonderful experience that she will always cherish. She married, but instead of teaching, her life took on a new direction into the world of real estate development. Karina found the business world exciting and addictive and she enjoyed working with the public. She loves music, and before she knew it, she was representing several classical musicians in the recording field. She thought that was fun, but when contacted by a 'new name', she did a complete 180 degree turn and began representing a country singer -- a lot of good Christian music. Eventually, it took her around the country working with names like Windham Hill and the Thomas Kinkade Galleries of Light.
When her children came along, she began writing stories and picture book tales for them (she had been writing off and on for fifteen years but not for children). This love of writing led her to haiku. Karina was introduced to haiku by a friend and fell in love with the simple values of nature, man and the back to basics themes. Some of her haiku is posted on the Peter Miller Art Works in Japan and are published in the World Haiku Review.
Karina says, "I have been told I have a poets soul. I like that!"
