ito, aka Juanito Escareal, has two published renku, one with Betty Kaplan and Sue Mill, "Summer Breeze", and another with Ferris Gilli and Peggy Willis Lyles called "New Straw". He has haiku published mostly in e-zine publications except for haiku in Fuyoh/Rose Mallow, a quarterly magazine published in Japan. Also, he has a tanka published in the tanka anthology, "In the ship's wake", and a three-person  rengay published in Chiyo's Corner III, Summer 2001. He placed in the World Haiku Festival Anthology competition (WHF2000) and the WHC-Charnwood Arts haikuWORKS kukai, and he is published in World Haiku Review.

Juanito lives in El Sobrante, California., USA but soon will move to Hercules, CA with his family. He loves tennis and still participates (if the arthritis is not too bad) in the 35-and-over summer Fil-Am basketball tournaments
