Carmen Sterba is an award-winning haiku poet who was born in Seattle, Washington in 1946. She has three sons and teaches at three colleges in Japan. In 2002, she moved to the Japanese countryside with varying views of mountains and fields (Japanese irises, sunflowers, rice and barley). She is the haijinx editor for Asia, and an active member of the Haiku Society of America, Meguro International Haiku Circle and World Haiku Club. Her first chapbook, sunlit jar is Radish Book #30, published by Wim Lofvers in the Netherlands and includes haiku published in Asahi Haikuist Network, Frogpond, haijinx, KO, Presence, The Heron's Nest and World Haiku Review. Her other interests are prayer, walking, swimming and writing haibun.
