Jim Dolan is a psychotherapist with 24 years in the field, 20 of those years in private practice, in Dallas, Texas. He is also involved in film acting, improv' comedy, and is active in the Dallas literary scene. He's been working mostly in poetry and in haiku for many years now and lately in fiction. As for Haiku, he has been a winner in an online haiku competition, Haiku Moon, in the mid nineties, and also was a judge of the same, along with Judith Gorgone. Kei Tomasu has placed one of his haiku on his site, presenting haiku emblematic of summer. Jim's poem, 'The Secret Kiss', was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in poetry in the year 2000, by the editors of The Red River Review. He is a consistent winner/finalist in local poetry contests, is published in Illya's Honey (paper publication) and Red River Review and has essays at Dakota House Journal, and Men Web. Many of his interests in poetry, fiction and non-fiction are on display at his website, Lotus Eaters. He has published one book of poetry, Amethyst, Amaryllis, Amor (1997); the next is baking in the oven.
